Broken Calabash

Trust was shattered when a mother closed her eyes to the thieves in her home
A father was blinded by gifts while his pride was stolen

The calabash is broken
Such a beautiful edifice
Now hidden in the dust
Some say it fell from the heavens
Designs unmatched by the most skillful of hands
Patterns never seen by the human eye
Stolen away in the twisted heat of desire
Admired, abused, and abandoned
Little mother Africa
Calabash of pride

Forgiven

Heart beating but I was a dead man walking

Telling tall tales but I was a silent man talking

Money slave, got on the train dust chasing
Essence lost; dead man hustling
Dancing to the sounds of death; devil whistling
Empty smiles at the pub; devil feasting

Warm bodies met naked thoughts; false loving
Tired of this living Lord!
Mad at the world; death wishing
Pride on the ground, knees bent, silence broken

The Times

I treat pride like foolishness; SILENCE
I see greed as the fetus of VIOLENCE

The free world is a stage; MADNESS
Every man for himself like FRIENDLESS

Times are like sand paper call it ROUGHNESS

Encounter At The Cross

Encounter at the Cross
How can I keep Silent
Since I was touched I've been praising God's heaven sent
Its a Good Friday, Heads bowed, knees bent
Cos of the Blood I can't be irrelevant
spin the tables ... this is my story

"I Am" is real...
Like the existence of Power
Breath in lungs...
Scramble for life every hour
Like the heat in the Fire
Invisible hydrogen in the Water

Like A Dream

I saw her...

Intense feeling in my gut

My soul threatened to jump out
Without a touch I could feel the softness of her soul

I saw her...

Not riches, not silver, not gold
Not the suffering or or tears of life

My Mother

Who else would smile when I kick her?
Who else would carry my burdens with happiness?
Who else in the stillness of night would give up her only wrapper to keep me warm?
Soil her hands with my waste and not hand me a bill?
Feed me every good thing to her last and be content in my satisfaction?
You are beautiful in kindness
Exceptional in love
You are my champion

Pleasure Seller

    photo: jobcontax.wordpress.com

Carnival lights
This place is designed to relax the body and release the soul cold
With every step I could feel immorality's grip bold
Smoke filled the room
Whiskey laced eyes casted their gaze upon me through their dark comfort
To that comfort their soul is sold

I was new here
First timer, it was obvious
I tried to blend in but again I stumbled
My mind was accustomed to this desire, But my feet were new to this sin,
New to this bargain

How Can I Love You

How can I love you from here?
Distance is to my heart so unfair,
I scream your name, but you do not hear.
Forever, my love is lost I fear.

How can I hold on to you?
When you melt in my mind like drops of dew.
How can I forget the old and find a new?
I gaze in her eyes for a clue.

I Am

I am...
Born with the tears
Uncuddled by the earth,
Received by the eager arms of a mother,
The unknown, muted by hope waits around the corner.

I am...
Watching a world of confusion
Swallowed in an ocean of beauty
Addiction and motive fused into passion,
Without control I earn more than my ration.

I Dreamed Your Beauty

Bii by Snappy snapps
I thought I had finally found a bridge into my dreams
I woke up one day
And there was you

I dreamed your eyes
Just the way they are
Your luscious lips not strange to me
Your hair wasn't an inch thicker
Breath warm like the words you spoke
Like the ocean before its creator
Your body spread out in my mind's eye
Skin soft like butter
Than the fairy tale princesses, far fairer you still are
Truth be said, you are perfect
Just as I imagined

My Inner-Child

Still my heart beats and I'm thankful
But where does this road lead I ask my inner child
Beating inside me
Desire has made us all pregnant

What cheap fabrics do the seamstress of fate design for me
I dare now to ask for I fear nothing
The past spits in my eye
Blinding me of rationality
We were never good friends
She tricked me with hope severally
Telling my inner child lies too shameful to repeat
Still my heart beats and I'm thankful

ONCE UPON A SILVERY MOON

Upon her lips were broken words interrupted by his angry sword.
She was faithful, but his rage blinded jealousy wouldn't see.
He counted his submission as a loss
A profit stolen by the envy of a brother.

Under a silvery moon of promise,
the stars watched souls lifted up in jubilee.
Smiles contagious, but shallow
found their way past betrayal's gates.
Ember hidden hands locked in brother-hood.

Lost African Child

Dust covered feet
Back accustomed to the sun's heat
It is anguish not joy that shines my teeth
African child

Lost in the carnage of corruption
Drowned a pool of staled hope's salivation
Lies well dressed for public adoration
African child

Flesh in close romance with bone and intestine

Silence Amplified

photo: artfertilityblog.com

Side by side we lie
Heartbeats echoing at each other
Loud silence

Our souls need tolerance

Under the pregnant African sky we lie still
Malicious silence reminded to life by insolent mosquitoes
